updated: applies-to: 2.0.0.0

Pay a sales manager on their team's results with a Team Override, or pay a bonus when the team reaches its target with a Team Target Bonus. Both are paid when you close the period.

Team Override

A team override pays the manager of each team on what the members sold or earned.

  1. Add a component with the method Team Override to the manager's plan, and choose the Period Length.
  2. Choose Override On: the members' Sales, Margin, Quantity or Commission in the period.
  3. Add Tiers: the highest tier reached pays its fixed amount plus its rate on the team amount.
  4. Assign the plan to the manager.
A Team Override component with Override On set to Sales

A team override component. Its tiers set the manager's rate on the team's total.

Each member counts only while they are in the team. A member who joined on the 15th counts from the 15th.

Team Target Bonus

A team target bonus pays when the team reaches a percentage of its team target.

  1. Set a target for the team on Commission Targets. See Teams and targets.
  2. Add a component with the method Team Target Bonus. Add Tiers where From is the percentage of the target reached.
  3. Choose the Team Bonus Split: Paid to the Manager, Split Equally between the members, or Split by Share of Sales.

Example: the team target is 50,000.00 for the month. Tiers: from 100% pay 500.00, from 120% pay 1,000.00. The team sells 61,000.00 (122%), so the bonus is 1,000.00. Split equally between four members, each gets 250.00.

Good to know

  • Split Equally divides the bonus between the members on the period's last day, in equal parts, whatever day they joined.
  • Each member's part is rounded on its own, so the parts can differ from the bonus by a cent.
