Bitta Commission guide

Try it with demo data

Evaluate Bitta Commission safely with the built-in demo and the last-month preview on your own salespeople, with a suggested 30-minute evaluation path.

You can try Bitta Commission without touching your real salespeople or ledgers. This page shows two safe ways to evaluate the app: the built-in demo, and the last-month preview on your own data. It also suggests a 30-minute evaluation path.

Before you start

  • Use a sandbox environment or an evaluation company, such as a CRONUS demonstration company. Do not evaluate in a production company.
  • Install the extension and activate a trial. See Install and upgrade and Activate a license.
  • Your user needs the Bitta Commission Setup Administrator permission set (BAA Comm Setup Admin). For the demo, you also need permission to create salespeople.

WARNING

Commission records are governed and append-only. There is no single action that removes demo or trial data again. Evaluate in a company or sandbox you can discard.

Option 1: Create the demo

The setup wizard can create a small, repeat-safe sample and show the calculated results. The demo is available only in a company that Business Central marks as an evaluation company.

  1. Open Set Up Bitta Commission.
  2. In Get started, set What would you like to do? to Create Demo.
  3. Choose Next. The wizard goes to the demo review step and describes what it will create.
  4. Choose Create Demo.

The demo creates two sample salespeople, BAA-DEMO-FLAT and BAA-DEMO-TIER, with participants, dated assignments and two Draft plans in company currency:

  • Demo Flat Commission: 5 percent of sales.
  • Demo Progressive Commission: 5 percent up to 1,000 and 10 percent above.

If no existing link overlaps the dates, your own Business Central user is linked to the flat-rate sample earner as a viewing identity, so you can open the sample as that participant.

When the demo is created, the Commission Demo Preview page opens. It compares expected and observed amounts for sample transactions:

Example Expected
Flat-rate sale of 1,000 at 5 percent 50
Linked return of 400 -20
Flat-rate net 30
Progressive sale of 1,500 (1,000 at 5 percent plus 500 at 10 percent) 100
Combined net 130

The Observed Amount column is calculated with the same arithmetic strategies as a real calculation. Difference should be zero. Use Open Sales Earner to see the participant and its mappings, and Open Plan and Next Steps to see the plan version and its lifecycle.

The preview writes no operational earnings. The demo plans stay Draft; approving and publishing them is a separate step.

If you run Create Demo again, the app reuses the saved demo receipt instead of creating duplicates. If a salesperson with a demo code already exists without a matching demo record, the demo stops rather than adopting your data.

Option 2: Preview your own salespeople

In any company, the wizard can price last month's posted invoices with a plan you describe, without saving anything.

  1. Open Set Up Bitta Commission and choose Set Up My Company.
  2. Complete Company basics, Who earns and How they earn. Pick one of the eight plan styles and enter its amounts.
  3. Continue to Review and create.
  4. Review What each salesperson would have earned. It lists invoice count, sales, margin, units, the base the plan prices and the commission, with a total line for all selected salespeople.
  5. Change the plan inputs, go back to review and choose Refresh Preview to compare alternatives.
  6. Choose Save and close if you do not want to create anything yet. Your choices are saved for later.

Nothing is created until you choose Create Setup. See Guided setup wizard.

A suggested 30-minute evaluation

  1. 5 minutes. Create the demo and read the Commission Demo Preview. Check that every difference is zero.
  2. 5 minutes. Open Commission Plans, open a demo plan and choose Open Current Version. Look at the components, rates and the Next Action text that explains the lifecycle.
  3. 10 minutes. Run the wizard with Set Up My Company in a CRONUS company that has posted invoices last month. Try two or three plan styles and compare the last-month preview.
  4. 5 minutes. Open Commission Feature Management and read What It Adds for each module. Decide which modules your plans need.
  5. 5 minutes. Open Bitta Commission Setup Checklist and choose Check Setup to see what a real implementation still needs.

For a deeper evaluation, bring one real plan specification, a representative invoice and a partial return, and compare the app's trace with your own hand calculation.

Cleanup and next steps

  • Demo plans stay Draft and never pay. Leave them or discard the evaluation company.
  • When you move to a real company, start again with Set Up My Company there. Demo data is never copied automatically.
  • To reuse a configuration you built in an evaluation company, see Multi-company and copying configuration.
