ShowMe Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 19, 2026

This policy covers the ShowMe for Business Central Chrome extension, published by Bitta Apps LLC. The Bitta Apps website has its own website privacy policy.

In short

ShowMe has no account, no analytics, no advertising and no server of its own. Bitta Apps receives nothing you capture and no data about how you use ShowMe. What you capture stays on your computer until you export, copy, email or file it. We never sell your data.

What ShowMe keeps on your computer

ShowMe saves these in Chrome's storage for the extension, on your computer:

  • Your reviews and tutorials: titles, notes, screenshots, short videos and your drawings.
  • With each note: the page address and title, the name and value of the field you were on, and any Business Central error details you paste.
  • One line about your setup in each report: browser, operating system, window size, zoom, language and time zone.
  • Tutorial steps: the name of each button or field you click and the page address, with everything after the ?removed. So you can go back to a step, ShowMe also keeps Business Central's company, page and tenant from that address, out of sight. These stay on your computer and are never put in exports or backups.
  • Your settings.
  • The tracker details you enter (Azure DevOps token, Jira email and API token, monday.com token) and the email address for email drafts. These are kept apart from your reviews, are not encrypted, and are never put in exports or backups.

On sites you allow, ShowMe notes the last field you clicked or typed in, so it can attach it to your next note. That note is held only in Chrome's temporary memory for the tab. It is saved only when you capture a note.

Site access

ShowMe works only on sites you allow. Chrome asks you first. You can allow Business Central only, other sites one by one, or all websites. Allowing Business Central also allows the Microsoft sign-in page it sends you to. On every allowed site, the sign-in page included, ShowMe reads the field you are on, draws on the page and records tutorial steps. You can remove any site in Settings.

Video and microphone

Video recording starts only when you choose “Start video recording”. ShowMe then keeps the last 10 to 60 seconds of that tab in memory. A clip is saved only when you ask for one. Recording stops when you stop it or close the tab.

You choose the sound: none, tab sound, or tab sound and microphone. The microphone is used only for “Tab and microphone”. The first time, ShowMe opens its own page so Chrome can ask for your permission. Your voice is mixed into that recording and goes nowhere else. ShowMe has no other use for the microphone.

What is hidden

Password, PIN, card number and other fields that look secret are saved as [hidden]. Screenshots cover them automatically. You can turn this off in Settings, and you can blur anything else yourself. ShowMe cannot spot every private detail, so check your screenshots before you share them. Videos are recorded as you see the tab and are never hidden.

When your data leaves ShowMe

Only when you do one of these:

  • Export a PDF, HTML, Markdown or ZIP file, or download an email draft. Sending the draft is up to you, in your own email app.
  • Copy a report. Other apps on your computer can read the clipboard.
  • Finish a reviewwith “Export a ZIP when I finish a review” turned on (it is off by default). The ZIP goes to the ShowMe folder in your Downloads.
  • Choose a backup folder. ShowMe then keeps a copy of your reviews in it. If that folder is synced by other software, that software gets the copy.
  • Connect a tracker (Azure DevOps, Jira or monday.com). ShowMe reads your projects or boards so you can pick one.
  • Check for similar items before filing. ShowMe searches your tracker.
  • File notes. You see what will be sent first and pick the notes. They go straight from your browser to your tracker. Bitta Apps does not see them. That tracker's own privacy policy then applies.

For Jira only: Jira refuses file uploads from extensions unless one browser header (Origin) is removed. After you connect Jira, ShowMe removes that header on its own uploads to your Jira site. It changes no other traffic.

Deleting your data

You can delete any note or review in ShowMe, remove site access and disconnect a tracker in Settings. Uninstalling ShowMe, clearing Chrome's data or deleting your Chrome profile removes everything ShowMe saved. Files you exported and backup folders are yours, and you delete them yourself.
