Cashier Day
Run the normal cashier sequence from sign-in and shift open through sales, receipt recovery, cash count, and shift close.
Purpose
Run the normal cashier sequence from sign-in and shift open through sales, receipt recovery, cash count, and shift close.
Role
Cashier using BAA POS - User; supervisor joins only for permission-gated exceptions.
Prerequisites
Assigned Store/Terminal/POS User, active profile, valid tenders, opening float, mapped items and customer, and tested receipt destination.
Enable / Configure
Profile capabilities used here: Shift Operations, Park and Resume, Price Check, Receipt Recovery, and Sales History. Enable only the controls this role should operate.
Steps
- Sign in and open the shift.
- Complete a cash sale and a permitted non-cash sale.
- Park one open basket and resume it from the same terminal.
- Run Price Check without adding the item.
- Recover one receipt by document number.
- Count tenders, close the shift, and review the Z report.
Expected Result
Every completion has one durable Sale header, lines, payment rows, and receipt copy state. The closed Shift retains counts, expected amounts, differences, cashier, Store, and Terminal.
When Disabled
The corresponding status-bar or register control is absent. A crafted direct server call rejects the profile-disabled action. Effective Register Setup identifies whether the result came from profile, company policy, permission, or missing setup.
Records / Accounting
Open/close uses BAA POS Shift and BAA POS Shift Tender; pay in/out and safe drop use BAA POS Cash Movement. Shift close is an operational count, not EOD posting and not a G/L posting event.
Recovery
Use Recent Sales, Receipt Recovery, Payment Detail, EFT Attention, and Print Jobs before attempting a new transaction. Escalate over/short, unresolved EFT, or failed output with the original IDs.
Test IDs
LEARN-CASHIER-001 full day; LEARN-CASHIER-002 park/resume; LEARN-CASHIER-003 receipt recovery; PROF-DIRECT-DIS-001 server refusal.
